What happens when your church gets involved…
- Dan enjoys the walk with others from his church. He joins friends and also talks with people he’s only seen around church but gets to know them better while walking. His wife and kids have fun on the walk as well.
- Lisa comes to the walk on the bay with the friend she invited. She texted out a flyer for the walk to her friends and co workers and they responded positively to the need for clean water. The flyer also mentioned the sponsoring involvement of her church, it’s location and website. This is an easier ask than a Sunday morning invite.
- At the event, WeGetWater.org banners illustrate the need for clean water in poor communities. So the general population at the bay also becomes aware of WeGetWater.org
What happens when you go to a We Get Water Hike? Relationships are formed and deepened while you get fun exercise and help the world’s poorest get the clean water they desperately need.
What do you get from We Get Water?
- We identify the village church which becomes the sponsor of the new well
- Illnesses drop because 52% of all diseases in the developing world are due to waterborne illness.
- Agricultural output and micro-enterprises increase in the village after the gift of water.
- People in your church here have an opportunity for kind-hearted giving.
- People in your church get fun exercise on a beautiful walk.
- Your church members build relationships with each other on the walks.
- They can invite co-workers or neighbors on a walk and build community relationships.
- Those who have no faith community become aware of your church in a positive way.
- The most motivated can later join a missions trip and physically help the well drilling team.
